COVID-19 CLAIMS

Business Interruption Insurance Claims

BREAKING NEWS - 15th January 2021

Tens of thousands of small businesses will receive insurance pay-outs covering losses from the first national lockdown, following a court ruling.

The UK Supreme Court found largely in favour of small firms receiving payments from Business Interruption Insurance policies.  For some businesses it could provide a lifeline, allowing them to trade beyond the coronavirus crisis.
  • Did any of your clients purchase Business Interruption Cover last year, and have yet to make or submit a claim?
  • Are you, with Covid-19 restrictions and renewal season, overstretched and facing a heavy workload, even before dealing with the FCA judgement, which will for your clients be a priority, if they are to keep their business afloat?
  • Have you seen the number of insurance companies adverting and recruiting staff to set-up new forensic teams, partly in anticipation of this outcome in order to vet and validate claims?
  • Does your client want to be seen as an urgent case and obtain a timely and justly valued claim, to compensate them?
  • No two claims will be the same and there will be varying levels of data available from one client to the next, all of which will need analysing if it is to be used in support of creditable claim.  A sound supported claim puts the onus on the insurer to deny a claim, whereas an unsupported claim places the onus on the client to support his submission, especially if any consequential loss value forms part of the claim.
  • Is your business geared up, to support your clients with the evaluation and submission of a viable package, and resourced to then handle the queries, justify claim values submitted and chase the claims adjuster?

Added Value

Qatalytic Ltd is a small professional team of insurance accountants and claims staff able to support clients with their submissions (review and check constituent parts and realistic valuations) to validate your clients claim.

We believe we can help your clients prepare a well presented claim, duly annotated to justify the numbers and significantly speeding up the process.  As our fee is a claim specific expense it can normally be charged as part of the submission, under a consequential loss charge, thus the cost to the client ought to be zero, whereas your costs will fall to your bottom line.

Alternatively we are able to carry out a simple review of the submissions for a set fee per claim
